A sudden onslaught of thunderstorm, rain and hail in several parts of Ri-Bhoi District occured today the 14th of April resulting in several houses,school buildings and vehicles being completely damaged even though the thunderstorm lasted for a very brief period.
The sudden thunderstorm brought about great financial losses and major damages as it also destroyed the pandal put up by the Presbyterian Church of India in preparation for the 44th Biennial General Assembly under the Presbyterian Church of Umroi scheduled to be held from the 27th of April to the 1st of May.
