HEADLINES

SHILLONG, April 12: The Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad Kongkal Sangma said that the Government and the Police Department are on high alert about anything which can affect the law and order situation in the State, in which he said that even the email sent by ‘Lawei ba Phyrnai’ is taken seriously and the Government will do all it needs for the safety and security of the people.

The Chief Minister said that such threats are always there not only in this State, but also in other States as well and there are times when such threats are only meant to create fear and end only in emails, with no authenticity and added further that it is possible that they might be the case, but the Government will not take it lightly and the party live are working hard to catch the persons involved.

Sangma also said that today he had a detailed discussion with the Special Director General of Police, but he refused to say anything much about the discussion, but he said that the Police Department has done its duty, not only about the emails, but also so that the law and order situation in the State is not affected and besides that the Government is also examining the threats of this outfit in detail.
