SHILLONG, April 08 : Seng Khasi Kmie is all set to organise the Shad Suk Mynsiem 2022 from the 9th to the 11th of this month.
Leaders of the Seng Khasi Kmie , Rgh.Hairness Marbaniang, General Secretary, Rgh.Banteilang S.Rumnong,Chairman Publicity Committee SKK, Rgh. Arwan S.Tariang, Vice President and Rgh.D.Suiam, Cultural Secretary,SKK have expressed hope that this Shad Suk Mynsiem will be a vibrant one after the break caused by the onslaught of the Covid-19 pandemic in the last two years.
The preparation for Shad Suk Mynsiem this year has progress smoothly and it is expected that thousands of male and female dancers from across the land of the Hynniewtrep will participate in the dance of the happy hearts.
Banteilang S.Rumnong said that this a thanksgiving dance held annually for the blessings that the Almighty Creator has bestowed on all throughout the year. He said that the pandemic in the past two years led to a break in organising the annual dance, and now too, it is being held as per the standard operating protocols as prescribed by the Government.
These men expressed their gratitude to the Government for permitting them to hold the Shad Suk Mynsiem while strictly following the restrictions. They also said that the distinctive feature about this year is that the dancers will receive “khaw eh khaw shan” or rice that have been blessed.
Shad Suk Mynsiem was first held in 1911 and in its journey since, 2020 was the first time when it had to be stopped due to the onslaught of the Covid-19 pandemic.
