In response to the claims of the MDA Government that the MoU was signed as per the map prepared by the Government, Dr.Mukul Sangma said,”In August 2011, we had shown Assam the documents in which the sites are shown to be under Meghalaya and the documents shown were received from the Hima Chiefs and was not yet confirmed because know for a fact that the land in Meghalaya does not belong to the Government but to the people and the Himas have the power over the land”.
Adding to this he said that whatever has happened is the worst that can happen and which cannot be accepted by the public and when the public does not agree, we will finish the task to take the responsibility for the public, said Dr.Mukul.
