Dr.Dympep informed that cleft lip and palate of children can be corrected and Woodland Hospital has been continuing with the correction of the cleft lip and palate for the past 10 years but there are many parents who are still scared of coming forward and having the cleft lip and palate of their children corrected, but as a doctor who has specialised in this, she said that parents should should get the correction on the children done in order to restructure their lips especially because as humans there will always be talks which can make the cleft lip and palate to be a source of embarrassment for them to come out of their houses.
From her end, she said that children under 18 with cleft lip and palate will get free treatment through funding from Smile Train, New York while for those who are 18 years and above, their treatment will be as per recognition from Smile Train.
