SHILLONG, April 05: The Minister incharge of the Department of Education in the State, Lahkmen Rymbui has expressed that there are many problems with the aim to start implementing school buses to ease the problems of school students as well as to ease traffic congestion in the urban areas.

The Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad Kongkal Sangma while presenting the Budget in the recently concluded session of the Legislative Assembly expressed that the Government will start operating 100 mini buses for the school students, and this aim of the Government is to ease the traffic congestion in the city.

On being asked about this, Rymbui said that the problem arises as to where to park these buses as there is no place to park these buses, and also there is no embarkment and disembarkment area for the students, and the other is that the buses cannot enter the bylanes of the different localities.

He said that the aim of the Chief Minister is the best but added that more deliberations will have to be carried out for of this can be implemented then it will definitely ease traffic congestion during school hours.
