IF THE PUBLIC ARE TROUBLED BY THE LOSS OF FISH POND THEN HOW CAN PROBLEMS BE RESOLVED:DY. CM

HEADLINES

SHILLONG, April 04: The Deputy Chief Minister who is also the Chairman of the Regional Committee for the Border Resolution in Ri-Bhoi District, Prestone Tynsong said that if the people are troubled by the loss of a fish pond which is not even bigger that 25,000 sq/ft, then how can problems be resolved.

He said that the Regional Committee has already inspected all the sites prior to the signing of the MoU, and probably there is a misunderstanding amongst the public, and said that if this cannot be resolved now then perhaps this problem cannot be resolved even after 50 years also.

He said that the dissatisfaction and the opposition is not only in Meghalaya, but even in Assam as well, but he has appealed to all the stakeholders to accept reality for if it cannot be accepted now then this problem will never be resolved.

On the other hand, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the second phase of the resolution for the remaining 6 sites will be more difficult as these are sites which include Langpih, Block I and Block II, Psiar and Khanduli, but he said that if the public from both the States respect the decision taken by the Government then only will the problem be resolved.
