AS SOON AS FORMER MDC OF THE UDP JOINS THE CONGRESS, RONA KHYMDEIT ANNOUNCED AS 2023 MLA CANDIDATE OF THE CONGRESS PARTY

Nongpoh, March 31: The Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) led by Vincent H.Pala as President along with other prominent leaders of the Congress party and Ri-Bhoi District Congress Committee (RBDCC) today welcomed a few leaders from Ri-Bhoi District including Rona Khymdeit and her supporters who joined the Congress party.

On this day Vincent H.Pala as President announced that Rona Khymdeit will contest the 2023 Assembly Election on a Congress ticket.

In this programme were also present prominent leaders of the Congress including O.N Syiem, Dr.Fenella Lyngdoh Nonglait, MDC, RBDCC President,Charles Marngar, former MLA,Dr.Constantine Lyngdoh and others.

Vincent H.Pala while speaking in the programme expressed that the MPCC along with the District Committee of Meghalaya will work hard to unite and strengthen the party in the State before the Assembly Election of 2023, while assuring also that the Congress party will win in many constituencies in the Meghalaya in which many prominent leaders have expressed interest to join the Congress party and he also said that a programme will be held in the State in which leaders and supporters will be welcomed.

Rona Khymdeit, former MDC of the UDP expressed her happiness in getting a chance to join the Congress party. She also said that the Congress party is one of the biggest party not only in the State but in the country as well. She also said that she took this decision to exit from the UDP because she had been a part of this regional party for many years but she never got a chance to grow as per her plans and she was assured also that she will taste the fruits of victory in the 2023 Election.

The leaders of the Ri-Bhoi District who joined the Congress party include Reverend P.W.Pnar and Deputy S.P, S.Mallai along with their supporters.

On this day the leaders of the MPCC and the leaders of the RBDCC also held a protest on the increase of prices of essential items and especially the hike of petrol, diesel and LPG cylinder prices all across India.
