CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANISATIONS TAKE BOUNDARY STONE OF ASSAM TO THE DC’s OFFICE OF WKHD

The youths of West Khasi Hills District including Hynñiewtrep Youths’ Council Ri-Muliang Pyllun along with the Federation of Khasi Jaiñtia and Garo People from Langpih after receiving information that the Assam Government had erected boundary stones in Kamphaduli village and in other parts under Langpih area, yesterday visited these villages to uproot the boundary stone which was erected unlawfully by the Assam Government without the knowledge of the local administrators of the area and also the Government of Meghalaya.

It was said also that many boundary stones erected by Assam Government which include those erected in Kamphaduli, Umbyrsit and others, were uprooted completely by these youths who without any fear of anyone performed the gallant act which was also carried out act in the open for all to witness and not in the dark or discreetly.

No only that but after uprooting the boundary stones of the Assam Government today, they took them to the Office of the District Commissioner of West Khasi Hills District.

P.D.Sangma, the Deputy Commissioner of West Khasi Hills District speaking with news reporters said that he has no knowledge on this matter pertaining to the Assam Government erecting boundary stones.
