Jowai: The counting of votes for the Elaka Shangpung and Elaka Nartiang which was held today the 25th of March, 2022 in the MDC Hostel, Ïawmusiang, Jowai and which began from 9:30 AM went off smoothly.
From Elaka Nartiang, Salong Lamare was declared the winner in the counting of votes for the Doloi of Elaka Nartiang today after the votes were cast on the 23rd of this month.
Salong Lamare secured 3180 votes and defeated 3 opponents in the Doloi election which include Jomeo Dkhar who secured 2403 votes, Leibanki Dkhar who secured 141 votes and Helping Dhar who secured 36 votes. The total number of votes in all of Elaka Nartiang is 7196 votes, the number of votes polled were 5946 which comes to 82.63%, while there were 186 invalid votes.
