Shillong: Bindo M.Lanong who is also the Chief Advisor of the United Democratic Party, is dispirited on seeing the ideological fragmentation amongst the youth with regards to the political scene in the State.
Speaking with t7, Lanong expressed that at present he has observed and found that the youths are joining the NPP, HSPDP and some going to the PDF and so on and so forth which is indicative that the youths have been led astray by different ideologies and are now going in separate ways.
In this fragmented path of the youths, the result from it will also be a sign of everything with no clear basis, especially since no single party has been successful in ever getting the necessary number of MLAs to form a Government with a single party.
Therefore, on seeing the current state of the youths, Lanong said that coalition governments are here to stay, but he also said that this point in time is the best time for the largest regional party to be in power especially when the Congress party which had been in power for 50 years has broken into pieces.
It is after having observed and found this that Lanong in his recent speech delivered to the youths of the party urged them to make this as their main goal of life and to go and enlighten other fellow youths so that they will come together under one ideological basis.
Lanong stood up to remind them all that during this time when the Congress and other parties have broken into pieces or are in a disarray, if the UDP cannot achieve this goal then it’s time to say bye-bye UDP, however as an Advisor of the party, Lanong did not discourage them but instead urge the youths on the need to take up this matter as a challenging goal to set everything straight and if they cannot do so then they will reach nowhere.
