Civil Defence (Home Guards) personnels along with the Meghalaya Fire & Emergency Service rescued a boy who fell into a well which was still being dug. This incident occured while this boy was digging the water well along with other fellow workers and during his descend into the well with the support of a rope, the rope suddenly snapped.
This water well which is still in the process of being dug has a depth of about 40 feet. The incident took place in Moowamon village, Mihmyntdu earlier today at around 2:00 PM.
The boy was successfully rescued at around 4:00 PM. The boy sustained severe injuries and is now admitted in the hospital.
