Khliehriat: On the 1st of March,2022, the Hynniewtrep Integrated Territorial Organisation (HITO), East Jaiñtia Hills inspected the Civil Hospital, Khliehriat under the leadership of President, Deibormi Rymbai and General Secretary, Sokini Dkhar and found the hospital lacking in several necessary provisions requiring for many more provisions to be made still in this healthcare facility.
In the meeting with the District Health &Medical Officer (DM&HO), he said that the hospital is still lacking in several amenities.
As a reminder on the 14th of February,2022, the CHC, Khliehriat was upgraded to Civil Hospital, Khliehriat by the Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad Kongkal Sangma in the presence also of other Ministers, however in the discovery made by the organisation, the facility does not appear to be a Hospital only on paper as the necessary provisions are lacking in abundance. The provisions of an X-ray machine, USG Machine, Laboratory, Blood Storage, Emergency Room, Operation Theatre, Drinking Water, Anaesthesia Doctor, Oxygen Pipe Line, number of beds which should be in 100 rooms but are currently only in 50 rooms, besides many other necessary amenities expected to be found in Hospital.
The leaders of HITO have strongly urged upon the DM&HO as well as officials of the Health Department Administration to provide the necessary requirements of the Hospital sooner to ease the people of the region in seeking medical care.
