Shillong: The MLA of Jowai, Wailadmiki Shylla said that the Government is looking at ways and means to procure a site which would serve as a landfill for the waste and garbage from Jowai.
This statement of the Jowai MLA was made following the 50 years milestone of a full-fledged District but the distress amongst many is that even after all these years, the residents have still yet to see the authorities concerned being successful in providing a proper site to dump all their waste and garbage.
At present, all the garbage is indiscriminately disposed in every locality of Jowai city which has led to much unpleasantness and which has also led to many talks amongst the public as well as strong condemnation of the Government and District Administration.
