SHILLONG, February 22: The National People’s Party (NPP) today on the 22nd of February warmly welcomed leaders from across the districts of Khasi-Jaintia Hills. These leaders include former MLAs, MDCs as well as the present MDC from Umsning, Smti.Macdalyne Sawkmie Mawlong besides former MLA from Ranikor who is also the former Speaker of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly,Martin M.Danggo, MDC from Langrin who is also the former CEM of the KHADC, Mansturdy Nongrem, Hambertus Nongtdu, former CEM of KHADC and Thomas Nongtdu, former MDC in the KHADC and other leaders and their supporters.
The gathering to welcome new members to the party was conducted by the Meghalaya NPP President,Dr.Wanwei Roy Kharlukhi. On this day, all the leaders were welcomed by the National President of the NPP, Conrad K.Sangma in the presence of National Vice President, Prestone Tynsong and other leaders of the NPP including Sniawbhalang Dhar, other MLAs and party workers.
Speaking on this day, Prestone Tynsong assured that Macdalyne Sawkmie Mawlong will contest the upcoming Assembly Election from Nongpoh against the present incumbent Congress MLA, Mayralborne Syiem while Martin M.Danggo has been assured to contest again from Ranikor against the MLA of the UDP, Pius Mawrwein.
