AMIT SHAH TO CALL FOR ANOTHER MEETING WITH THE TWO CMs TO RESOLVE BORDER ISSUE

SHILLONG, January 27: The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah will call for another meeting with the two Chief Ministers of Assam and Meghalaya, Himanta Biswa Sarma and Conrad Kongkal Sangma to continue the talks on the interstate border resolution between these two States. This was informed by the Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K.Sangma after the Cabinet meeting held today.

Sangma said that the Cabinet meeting today was held to inform the situation with regard to the border resolution talks with Assam and deliberations for the first phase of the resolution which include 6 sites of the 12 sites of dispute was held again. He said that in the few days prior to the meeting with the Union Minister, there will be another meeting again to be held between the two Chief Ministers of the two States.

He said that resolution of the interstate border areas with Assam is complete at around 98 percent and what remains now is only about 2-3 percent, expected to be fully completed in the next meeting to be held in the few coming days for the Ministry of Home Affairs will probably call for meeting this week or in the first week of February.
