Jowai: Moolmylliang village, one of the model villages, inaugurated the Christmas Light Extravaganza in which Shri. S.S Syiemlieh,Deputy Commissioner of East Jaiñtia Hills District was the Chief Guest in the presence of local MDC Dr.Sankey Shangpung, Chairman of JHADC, Dr.R.Toi of Sutnga CHC. The light extravaganza this year is a much bigger event compared to the previous year as all the fully grown green trees in the village were adorned with colourful lights. Not only that, several designs prepared according to the Christmas theme were also seen. To commemorate Meghalaya’s 50 years of Statehood, this village has also specially highlighted the map of Meghalaya shaped from trees grown in the villages on which the logo of Meghalaya’s 50 years of Statehood celebrations can also be seen. The Christmas Lights Extravaganza will be opened for the public everyday from 5:00 PM and conclude on the 2nd of January,2022.
