State Level observation of National Voluntary Blood Donation Day was celebrated today at Cilia Hall in Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah at a function organised by Meghalaya Aids Control Society and State Blood Transfusion Councils.
The National Voluntary Blood Donation Day celebration function was attended by many youths who have been donating blood on several occasions as required by people in emergency situations. The function was inaugurated by Shri.Sampath Kumar, IAS, who is also the Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare , Department of Meghalaya and President of Meghalaya Aids Control Society.
Dr.C.Budnah, Member Secretary State Blood Transfusion Councils, Dr.R.Allya, Project Director of Meghalaya Aids Control Society and many other dignitaries were also present at the function.
At the function, awards and mementoes were also distributed to blood donors by the Chief Guest.
