SHILLONG, October 01 : Mawlai constituency MLA and also Chief Whip of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly, Shri. Process T.Sawkmie has clearly stated his decision to stay in the Congress, whereby he also said that as of today till the 1st of October, he has not had a talk with anyone about leaving the Congress.
The Congress MLA said this after the news of Dr.Mukul Sangma, leader of the Opposition along with about 13 other MLAs were planning to exit the Congress party came out.
Sawkmie has expressed a deep concern over the news and the disarray in the party, and he had called upon his fellow MLAs to continue with unity in the party.
At the same time, the Congress leader from Mawlai has also expressed an even greater concern that such news could affect the performance of the party in the upcoming by-election in 3 constituencies.
