SHILLONG, September 30 : The new Chief Secretary of Meghalaya, Smti. Rebecca Vanessa Suchiang has expressed a desire of having more Khasi youths come forward and to attempt the Civil Service Examinations as the state has not seen a youth from the state being successful in the exam for the last eight years since Kum. Isawanda Laloo cleared the exam in the year 2013.
The senior officer of the state who is also the first female officer to get to this position, has said that perhaps her being at this highest position in the state can serve as an inspiration and example for the youth to sit for the Civil Service Examination while also stating that the exam is not difficult but only requires hard work.
Suchiang has also said that the government has taken the task to encourage the youth to sit for the examination by setting up coaching centres in MATI where 110 youths are undergoing preparations and she has also expressed a hope that this year from the coaching centre some will be successful in the exam this year.
