Shillong: The Hynniewtrep Integrated Territorial Organisation (HITO) Mawlai Circle, along with HITO Shillong City leaders, filed a formal complaint at Mawlai Police Station on Friday, September 20, against Salonsar Shylla. Shylla is accused of making defamatory remarks about the entire Mawlai community on the Facebook page “Na Lympung Ki Khun Ka Ri Khasi.”
HITO President Wansuklang Lawryniang and Secretary Balajied Jyrwa condemned Shylla for referring to Mawlai as the “City of Prostitution.” The organization has urged authorities to take swift legal action against the individual based on the complaint.
