The voters in Gambegre constituency head to the polls to elect their new MLA for the next four years.
Polling opened at 7 AM and will conclude at 4 PM. Approximately 38 per cent turnout out at 11:00 AM.
With approximately 35,000 registered voters, Gambegre is re-electing its representative after former MLA Saleng A. Sangma vacated his seat following his recent win as MP from Tura.
The by-election sees a tight race, with major candidates from the NPP, TMC, Congress and BJP vying for the seat.
