Shillong: The Ribhoi District Police on Sunday apprehended four individuals involved in the armed robbery of a petrol pump in Niangbyrnai, Umran, Ribhoi district, which occurred on August 25.
It maybe mentioned, four unidentified robbers forcibly restrained the manager and several employees, tied their hands and feet before proceeding to loot Rs. 4,24,614 from the petrol pump.
According to Superintendent of Police Jagpal Singh Dhanoa in a statement issued on Monday, informed that three of the suspects were arrested in Dimapur, Nagaland.
The District court has remanded them into police custody for five days to facilitate further investigation.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Rokongulie Keppu (18), Bokavi Zhimomi (25) and Pashen Lam (33), all are from Dimapur. The four accused were also arrested by the police personnel Tuensang Police Station, Nagaland and was later handed to the Ri Bhoi Police.
The police have also recovered a Bolero vehicle, bearing the registration number NL07 CB 0156, which was used in the robbery.
