Shillong: The body of seven-year-old Kynshanbor Kharmyndai, who went missing from Nongrah on October 8, has been formally identified by his family after it was discovered near NEIGRIHMS on Wednesday morning.
A passerby found the body around 10:30 am at Lum Rumnong, Mawpat and immediately alerted authorities. Police and forensic teams reached the site shortly after and began their investigation. Initially, the identity of the child could not be confirmed, and officials were awaiting the arrival of family members.
Kynshanbor had disappeared at around 4 pm on Tuesday, triggering an extensive search operation by family members, local residents and authorities that continued late into the night and resumed the following morning.
Police have launched a full investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.
