The Court of Smti M.K. Lyngdoh, Special Judge (POCSO), East Khasi Hills, Shillong, on September 25, 2025, convicted Shri Orlykupar Nongbri in Special POCSO Case No. 15 of 2014, arising out of Laban PS Case No. 32(03)2013 under Sections 9(m)/10 of the POCSO Act read with Section 457 IPC.
The accused was sentenced to 5 years of rigorous imprisonment and fined ₹20,000 for offences punishable under Section 10 of the POCSO Act. In default of payment, he will serve an additional 6 months of imprisonment. He was also awarded 3 years imprisonment with a fine of ₹10,000 for offences under Section 457 IPC.
The case was investigated by WP Inspector M.M. Momin, presently posted in Resubelpara, North Garo Hills.
