NPP leader and state minister, Marcuise N Marak, has predicted that the upcoming Gambegre by-election will be a contest between the National People’s Party (NPP) and the Trinamool Congress (TMC), sidelining the Congress party. Speaking today, Marcuise claimed that the Congress will “disappear” from the constituency in this election.
Gambegre constituency became vacant after Congress MLA Saleng A Sangma resigned following his victory as MP for Tura. The NPP currently leads the government in Meghalaya, while Congress and TMC sit in opposition.
