SHILLONG, February 02: The Home Minister of Meghalaya, Lahkmen Rymbui has denied that a rise in militancy has begun again in the State while stating that there may be a few incidents but that does not that there is a rise again in militant activities, and added that the police have prepared themselves for any unforeseen incidents.
With regard to the arrest of the boy under 18 years of age for involvement in planting a bomb, the Minister said that the involvement of the youths in militant activities is not due at all to the lack of employment opportunities but as is seen, there is negligence in families, and indicate to parents’ failure in imparting good values to their children and allowing them too much leeway.
