Nongpoh, July 09: The Wildlife Crime Control Bureau(WCCB) from Guwahati with the cooperation of the Loharghat Forest Department which falls under Kamrup West Division conducted a search operation after receiving information about illegal tusk trade.
In this search operation held in Umshru(Mataikhar), 2 persons who are domiciles of Meghalaya, one known as Dariahan Nongrum from Nongmawtamur, and another known as Edison Nongtri from Patharkhmah, Ri-Bhoi District were arrested and from them 9 elephant tusks were seized.
