Shillong: In a tragic road traffic accident at Quinine, Ri-Bhoi, a truck (Reg. No. ML-05L-4368) travelling towards Guwahati lost control, crossed into the opposite lane, capsized, and collided with a government vehicle (Mahindra Bolero, Reg. No. ML-01-7455) belonging to the District Sports Office, Resubelpara.
The impact killed two occupants of the Bolero on the spot — identified as driver Sanbirth M Momin and Smart Sangma. A third occupant, Nilkash M Momin, sustained injuries along with the truck driver Anil Dorjee and handyman Bibash Thapa. All three were rushed to Nongpoh Civil Hospital for treatment.
Police confirmed that legal formalities are being completed, and the accident site has been cleared for traffic movement.
