The Diocese of Jowai is mourning the loss of Rev. Fr. Hilarius Lamare, who passed away on 5th October 2025 at 7:50 a.m. at Nazareth Hospital, Shillong. Born on 1st October 1952, and ordained on 16th January 1983, Fr. Lamare faithfully served the Church and community for over four decades.
A Requiem Mass was held on the evening of 5th October at the Cathedral of St. Theresa of Child Jesus, Jowai. The Funeral Mass will take place on 7th October 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the same cathedral, followed by the funeral cortege to the Jowai Catholic Cemetery.
The Diocese has invited priests, religious, faithful, and friends to join in prayers for the repose of his soul.
