Nongpoh, August 29: Shri Everlasting Pyngrope, Principal of Mynken Christian Higher Secondary School in Bhoirymbong, has been selected to receive the prestigious National Teachers’ Award 2024. This award is presented to educators who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and contributions to the field of education. This year, 50 teachers from across India have been chosen to receive this honor, which will be conferred by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, at a ceremony to be held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, on September 5, 2024, coinciding with Teachers’ Day.

In an interview, Shri Pyngrope expressed his joy and gratitude for being selected as one of the awardees from Meghalaya. He acknowledged the support and blessings of God, which have enabled him to serve the school for the past 34 years. He also emphasized his commitment to bringing about positive changes in the school and raising its standards to new heights.

Shri Pyngrope highlighted the collaborative efforts of the school’s faculty, which have resulted in significant growth, with student enrollment reaching 1,056 from primary to higher sections. The school’s achievements include winning the Best School Improvement Plan award for the years 2018-19 and 2019-2020 in Meghalaya. These accomplishments have led to Shri Pyngrope being recognized with the National Teachers’ Award 2024.
