Rural Development Minister AT Mondal has announced a relaxation of the eligibility criteria for beneficiaries under the PMAY-G (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin) housing scheme.
Responding to a question raised by Dadenggre MLA Rupert Marak in the Assembly today, Mondal clarified that individuals who already own a pucca house, a vehicle, or agricultural machinery, as well as those who have taken a Kisan Credit Loan of ₹50,000 or more, work in government jobs, earn ₹15,000 per month, pay income tax or professional tax, or own more than 2.5 acres of land, will no longer qualify for the scheme.
Instead, priority will be given to households without able-bodied male members aged 16-59, families with no literate adults above 25 years, persons with disabilities, landless individuals and those in extreme poverty.
