Nongpoh, July 12: With grave concern over the ill treatment of SSA school teachers by the State Government, the All Meghalaya SSA School Teachers Association of Ri-Bhoi District today the 12th of July organised a meeting in Nongpoh to put forward the demand with the State Government to release their salaries of 5 months from February 2022 to June 2022 promptly as they have had to go through several problems in providing for their families and other daily requirements.
The meeting which was led by S.Kharsyiemiong, President of the AMMSSASTA, Ri-Bhoi District expressed grave concern over the ill treatment of the SSA school teachers by the State Government owing to the non-payment of their salaries for 5 consecutive months.
Furthermore, he said that the AMMSSASTA, Ri-Bhoi District with one voice have approved the decision of the Central body to conduct a sit-in demonstration from the 15th of July in front of the Secretariat to demand for the right of the SSA teachers. And he has also invited all the other SSA teachers to come join hands in the sit-in demonstration on the said date.
The meeting was attended by office bearers of all the 3 blocks which include the President of the AMMSSASTA Ri-Bhoi District,S.Kharsyiemiong, L.Kharbuki, President of Bhoirymbong Block, P.Khymdeit, President from Umsning Block, B.Ryntathiang, M.Lyngdoh and other members of the District and Blocks.
