Shillong, December 01: The Meghalaya Pradesh Trinamool Congress Legislature Party leader, Dr.Mukul Sangma said that the manner in which the peace talk with the HNLC is moving makes him anxious lest it leads to a loss of trust which can result again in problems later on as had been the case during the peace talk with the ANVC.
He said that all the cases against the members of the HNLC at present should have been dismissed after agreement for the peace talk had been signed.
Dr.Mukul said that this while responding to the query on the summon of the Special Court of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) issued for the 4 members of the forefront leaders of the Hynñiewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC).
He said that the Government should be clear about the conditions on which the whole process of the peace talk gas been carried forward, and he also said that the State Government should discuss and arrive at a mutual consensus with the Central Government because in such talks, the State Government cannot take a decision on its own.
The leader of the Opposition said that right from the time when he had led the Government, arriving at a mutual consensus through talks with the Central Government has always been time-consuming, and he posed a question to the State Government on why it cannot speak with the Central Government about the minor cases which can potentially disturb the process and lead to the failure of the peace talk.
