Meghalaya Cabinet Reshuffle: Eight Ministers to Be Replaced in MDA-II

The Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA-II) government will carry out a major cabinet reshuffle on Tuesday, with as many as eight ministers set to be dropped and replaced by new faces. Sources confirmed that Ri-Bhoi district will also secure representation in the new line-up.

Those expected to be sworn in include former Deputy Speaker and Resubelpara MLA Timothy D. Shira, Dalu MLA Brening A. Sangma, Jirang MLA Sosthenes Sohthun, Jowai MLA Wailadmiki Shylla, Mawshynrut MLA Methodius Dkhar, South Shillong MLA Sanbor Shullai, former Speaker and Mairang MLA Metbah Lyngdoh, and former Minister and Amlarem MLA Lahkmen Rymbui.

Ministers being dropped reportedly include A.L. Hek, Shakliar Warjri, Ampareen Lyngdoh, Kyrmen Shylla, Comingone Ymbon, Paul Lyngdoh, A.T. Mondal, and Rakkam A. Sangma. The reshuffle comes midway into the MDA-II government’s term, two and a half years after it assumed office.
