Shillong, September 06: Former MLA and Minister of Meghalaya, John Antonius Lyngdoh said that he has not taken any decision on which party to join after he exited from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

J.A Lyngdoh had sent in his resignation letter today the 6th of September to the President of the BJP, Ernest Mawrie. His exit from the BJP is because in the past 4 and a half years he had been forgotten by the leaders of the party.

Speaking with a few media persons, the former leader of the BJP said that his exit from the BJP is not because he intends to join another party but his exit from the party is because though he had been patient for 4 and a half years, yet he has been sidelined in matters of the party.

J.A.Lyngdoh lost the MLA Election in 2018 from North Shillong even though he secured more than 5000 votes. He said that it is not easy to secure more than 5000 votes from North Shillong as a candidate of the BJP, but the people showed their trust in that election because they chose the person and not the party.

He said that his presence in the BJP is not only to get a ticket to contest in the election and added that he had not taken any decision yet on whether he will contest the upcoming MLA Election in 2023, and he had not thought yet about his next plan of action.

It may be mentioned that North Shillong is one of the constituencies in which there will be many candidates who will be contesting in the 2023 MLA Election, and most of the political parties have also already announced their candidates except for the Congress party.
