Former Umroi MLA George B Lyngdoh, who previously won on a Congress ticket, may rejoin the party.
Speaking today, Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President Vincent H Pala expressed optimism about George’s potential return. “I am happy that a capable leader like George is in talks with the party. I have requested him to reconsider returning to Congress,” Pala said.
According to Pala, George has asked for time to consult with his supporters before making a final decision, which is expected in a day or two. Pala emphasized the need for strong and visionary leaders like George in the party.
It is worth noting that George won as a Congress MLA but left the party before the 2023 elections to join the Trinamool Congress (TMC).
