Shillong: With the objective in promoting tourism and to draw attention of nature lovers from and outside the state, Lawbyrwa village inaugurated the Lumkshaid Tourist spot at Umsning in Ri Bhoi District on Saturday.
The inauguration program was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Ri Bhoi Arpit Upadhyaya as the Chief Guest, along with I. Swer, director of Basin Development who was the guest of honour; Rijied Kharkrang, headman of Lawbyrwa, among others were also present.
Kharkrang the headman, informed that the tourist spot has been operational since last year and the hope that with the official opening on Saturday it will help to boost tourism sector and especially creating employment opportunities for thè locals of Lawbyrna. He also lauded the efforts put by whose dedication had made the spot beautiful and attractive.
