Shillong: The United Democratic Party (UDP) candidate, Synshar Kupar Roy Lyndoh Thabah said election is unpredictable and if the UDP bagged the Sohiong seat there will be a change in the government.
The UDP is part of the MDA-II led NPP government with two of its representative are in the cabinet. However, they highly favour a Khasi CM to lead the State.
The UDP candidate while speaking in a political campaign on Monday at Rangshken, has said that the all the development projects in Sohiong was brought by Late HDR Lyngdoh, the former MLA.
UDP chief Metbah Lyngdoh, General Secretary Jemino Mawthoh and other party leaders were present in the campaign.
UDP President, Metbah Lyngdoh while delivering his speech said no outsiders will understand the constituency better than the people of Sohiong itself.
The UDP chief reiterated that sympathy votes will favour the party during the upcoming Sohiong poll.
The poll date was scheduled on May 10 and the counting will be on May 13.
