SHILLONG, August 12: Banteidor Lyngdoh, MLA of Mawkynrew said he will contest the upcoming 2023 election from the People’s Democratic Party (PDF) because it is a party close to his heart which led him to victory and also gave him a Ministerial berth in the Government.
PDF had 4 MLAs who won in the 2018 Assembly Election, but Banteidor Lyngdoh who is the President of the party has given an assurance only for himself and Gavin Mylliem who is the MLA of Sohra of contesting from the PDF party.
With regards to the two MLAs who intend to join the NPP, Hamletson Dohling, MLA of Mylliem and Jason S.Mawlong,MLA of Umsning, Lyngdoh said that till date he has not received any intimation on whether they will stay in the party or exit the party.
On being queried, he informed that the PDF will have about 15-20 candidates who will be contesting in the upcoming Assembly Election, and from East Khasi Hills, many candidates have already been decided.
