SSA teachers to continue agitation until pending salaries paid

Shillong: The SSA teachers under the banner of the Meghalaya SSA School have decided to firmly continue with their agitation programmes until a clear surety from the Government with regards to the payment of the 5 months pending salaries is received which is due to them from the Government as SSA teachers.

Speaking at the gathering after meeting the Additional Chief Secretary who is also incharge of the Department of Education, at the meeting of leaders of the Meghalaya SSA School Association, he informed that the Department of Education has completed all the formalities with regards to the payment of the pending 5 months salaries and which is now running to 6 consecutive months, however the file as it is at present is still stuck in the Finance Department of the State Government, expressed the leader of the Association, Aristotle Rymbai while addressing his fellow SSA teachers in Meghalaya, after meeting with the Addl.C.S today.

As a reminder this Association has put forward 5 points of demand before the Government which begins with the payment of salaries from February -March, April, May and June, followed by the demand for enhancement of the salaries of all SSA teachers of the State, to allocate more of the budget towards the payment of SSA teachers’ salaries and to make arrangements for the inclusion of all SSA teachers from the State Implementation Society to the State Education Department.
