Shillong : The Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad Kongkal Sangma said that he has spoken with the District Administrations for information on the situation arising from the torrential rain and to arrange for relief to those in need. The Chief Minister also said that 4 regional committees have been constituted to watch over the situation in the State in the next 48 hours and these committees will be headed by the Cabinet Ministers.
As per the statement of Sangma, these committees will be on alert in ensuring that the people are not affected by the torrential rain, floods and landslides, and to also ensure that essential commodities are reached to the people. He also said that these regional committees will also conduct inspections in every district to bring about a cooperation with the government departments and District Administrations.
