HEADLINES

SHILLONG, June 08: The Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee of the NPP, Macmilan Byrsat informed that there had been one MLA who was engaged in anti-party activities, but he refused to reveal his name because the MLA at present has been sent a show cause notice.

He said that the party took action against the MLA under the jurisdiction of the Disciplinary Committee in which a show cause notice was also sent because the party wants the process to be followed accordingly.

On being queried, he said that the action taken against the MLA is as per the complaint received by the party because at times they speak against or act against the principles of the party and he will be given a chance to response and added that if the party finds his response satisfactory, it will accept it and if it does not other actions will be taken.

At the same time the leader of the NPP said that the show cause notice sent to the MLA is on the basis of his speech and actions against the party in the MDC election, but added that no MLA has the intention to exit the NPP.

Macmilan Byrsat who is also the MLA of Nongstoiñ has confidently stated that not even one MLA of the NPP will exit the party, but he informed that the MLAs from other parties have expressed their wish to join the NPP, and also said that the claims of other parties that NPP MLAs are exiting the party is just a trick.
