State Muay Thai athletes meet with Banteidor after winning medal in Abu Dhabi

Shillong: The State Muay Thai athletes under the Muay Thai Association of Meghalaya upon returning from the Championship which was held in Abu Dhabi, on Monday met with the Minister incharge of the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, Banteidor Lyngdoh at his residence.

The special meeting of the State Muay Thai athletes follows after they had recently competed at the IFMA Senior Muay Thai Championship in which Balaseibok Kharbuli competed in the category of Under-23 Male in the weight category of 48 KGs and Pynnehbor Mylliemngap competed in the Senior Elite Male 48 KG category and came back with bronze medals followed by Skhem Marweiñ who may not have won any medals but did get to a higher level of the competition.

In this meeting with Banteidor Lyngdoh, the athletes were also accompanied by Angelus Sun, Coach and Pynsuk Sumer,Referee.

Speaking with the athletes, Banteidor Lyngdoh expressed that he is filled with happiness over the accolades brought by the athletes not only to Meghalaya but India as a whole for this time out of the 19 athletes of the country, only these two came back home along with bronze medals and to those that have had not won,Lyngdoh encouraged and motivated them to not lose heart but to work hard once again so as to reach the goal.

Apart from that, Banteidor Lyngdoh is confident that the winning of the bronze medals will also awaken other youths of the whole State to move ahead in their endeavour which can be of benefit for all.
