Financial support for children who lost both parents due to the Covid pandemic released

As has been done in all the states in India, the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of West Khasi Hills District and also in collaboration with the Office of the DCPO(District Child Protection Officer), Nongstoiñ today successfully released the financial support known as the Prime Minister Cares for Children through the Ministry of Women & Children Development.

The financial support is meant for children who lost both parents during the Covid-19 pandemic and under this scheme 2 children from Eastern West Khasi Hills District received the benefit which is a financial support extended to them until they attain the age of 23 years.

Besides, the financial support, the children will also be looked after by the office of the DCPO and other government departments until they have attained the stated age.

The financial support was handed over to P.D. Sangma, Deputy Commissioner of WKHD in which passbooks and certificates were also handed over to the family members of the children, and attending the brief gathering which was held at the Conference Hall of the DC Office were W.Shabong, DCPO, Nongstoiñ and many others.
