SHILLONG, April 29: The Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Limited (MePDCL), has announced the imposition of load shedding again from the 30th of April in Shillong and adjoining areas, and the load shedding hours stretch out for an hour to two hours in a day.
A few residents have expressed their disagreement over this load shedding as it will affect the daily process of a lot work, but they also expressed that they cannot do anything much about the loadshedding because it has now become an annual festival which takes place without fail.
On this announcement, the MLA of East Shillong, Dr.M.Ampareen Lyngdoh said that the State Government has met with several challenges in connection with the Power in the State, and now for many years has resorted to the imposition of loadshedding. She said that as an MLA who is a coalition partner in the Government, she will seek information from the Government the reasons which has led the Government to impose loadshedding again, and to also give suggestions on how to remove this problem.
On the other hand, the former CLP leader has also urged the public to be patient for little while, in which as a representative she seek clarification and also give suggestions to the Government. She said that the reimposition of loadshedding will greatly affect the public.
