SHILLONG, April 20: The Minister incharge of the Department of Disaster Management, Kyrmen Shylla stated that as the information gathered by the department, there are 2 persons who died in East Khasi Hills District due to landslides which occured due to the heavy rain and thunderstorm in the past few weeks.
He said that the damages and losses as per the calculations of the department, from the 1st of April to the 19th of April there are 10,053 people affected, 4 who died, 2 who sustained injuries, while there are 160 houses that were destroyed completely while 2199 houses were damaged in parts.
