SHILLONG, March 31: The subsequent hike in the prices of petrol and diesel was witnessed all over India especially in the past few days starting from the 22nd of March in Shillong. Prior to this hike, the price of petrol was Rs.94.16 per litre while diesel was Rs. 80.75 per litre.
Till today the 31st of March, the price of petrol in Shillong has risen to Rs.100.32 per litre while diesel has risen to Rs.86.43 per litre.
Responding to a query on the means that the Government can follow in order to reduce the rapid hike in the prices of petrol and diesel, Deputy Chief Minister,Prestone Tynsong said that the hike in the prices of petrol and diesel is not only in the State or in India but the hike has been in other countries as well due to the war between Russia and Ukraine.
He said that the Government still needs to think about what action can be taken in order to avoid the hike in prices and added that the State Government will have to talk also with the Union Finance Minister and probably also the Prime Minister of India on how to alleviate this problem.
