Shillong: The leader of Hynniewtrep National Youth Front,Sadon K.Blah said that agreement or MoU signed on Tuesday between Assam and Meghalaya on the resolution of the border is not one that everyone is satisfied with.
Blah also said that one thing that can be understood is that the Meghalaya Government did inform even though 3 Committees were constituted, but the information as found by the organisation was extended only to the non-tribal residents of the disputed areas.
Therefore, in connection with this, Blah posed a question as to how can migrants be the ones deciding on the border of Meghalaya.
Blah stood to remind us that since India’s independence, Meghalaya was brought under the basis of the Composite State of Assam.
Besides that, he also said that it can be seen that Hima Mylliem has also expressed its opposition to the MoU signed by the Government and the civil society organisations also cannot accept the MoU signed by the Government.
