Shillong, March 29: The leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Meghalaya who is also the MLA from Pynthorumkhrah, Alexander Laloo Hek said that the party is trying at present to seek for suitable persons and constituencies with a promise of victory in the upcoming Assembly Election next year.
He said that in the past elections, the BJP prepared very well, but it started the preparation too late and for the Assembly Election of 2023,the party has been moving ahead steadily with the preparations, and the party at present is working silently.
On being asked about not having any new candidates or trusting those who are already representatives, Hek said that the party does not rely only on those who are alredy representatives for there are other leaders also who want to join the BJP including also MLAs.
He said that there are MLAs from other parties who have shown an interest in joining the BJP, but he said that at now is not the time to reveal their names. He said that there are also new persons and refined mature persons who will be joining the party.
The leader of the BJP said that the BJP will enter the upcoming election with a goal to bring about clean governance and many developmental schemes, while stating that another point of focus that the party has taken is on the matter of improving employment opportunities, and wants for there to be a small change in the reservation policy with 40% reservation for the poor and needy.
